Here's some programs which I've found that I think you all should watch as they are excellent:
The West Wing - This has some of the best writing ever
The Shield - Now on CNX, surprisingly good sort of Sopranos meets 24.
Zoids - Saw this this morning pretty impressed. It's Manga and it's on at children's TV times but it's not full of whiney little brats going 'help me' and there are enough lines about 'fathers spirit wil protect you' and cleverly created battles to make this entertaining.
Yup that's about it for now.

Zoids is either CNX or Fox Kids I think, or Cartoon Network ??
CSI - Five - good backing music, good characters, not dumbed down, variety of storylines, keeps to the focus of the show.
Always surprising.
Shield is excellent, got the season 1 boxset and at 13 episodes for 29.99 it's a bargain.
West Wing was okay season 1, but it's got worse as it's got more popular, a common theme for shows....
