I have some legitimate DVD-r's (honest guv) but a rather bizarre problem with them.

On Xbox and PC they play fine, like any DVD. On my Toshiba player a strange effect happens.

They play in 2:35:1 as they should, but, dividing the screen vertically, 3/4 of the picture is the film playing, and the other 1/4 is the film playing in a smaller box.

Anyone seen this or know the solution ? It's not desperate, just it means I can only watch them upstairs and my parents wanted to watch one of them downstairs on that player.

Here, the picture does not roll from side to side, it stays like that and plays in both screens...

Should work

I'll try.

When you have picture displayed in 2:35:1 ration then within that area where there is normally the one whole image of the film playing, I have two. 3/4 of the 2:35:1 display area displys the image that should be across the whole picture, whilst the other 1/4 displays the image again, cropped. I'll try get a pic.

Search of the internet seems to suggest it's a problem with the player and media...bah.

Sorry, my memory has been destroyed by a diet of MTV, constant ad bombardment and video games.

I haven't got a PC. I'm at work.

I'm getting a PC soon.

I know about the multiregion thing. Only because you told me last time - remember?

And did you remember me howling in rage last time?

If we want to be pedantic about it. it's actually the Xbox DVD Remote that's region coded. the box itself is multiregion until a DVD handset receiver is plugged in. don't either of you have DVD drives on your PC ?

No idea. I'm still seething with rage that the Xbox isn't multi region.
