Wouldn't put it past some sicko organisation organising huge fires, what do you think?

Ah, but Timothy Mcveigh left the scene and tried to escape, whereas the WTC attackers were definitely, and most knew it was a suicide mission. If Mcveigh had rammed a van with the explosives into the lobby of the building then the outcome would be different.

Granted the WTC attack was off the scale, but what about The Unabomber, Timothy McVeigh etc? They've done more with domestic terrorism than guerillas in Iraq, who have never committed any kind of aggressive act towards America?

One thing to remember is that the militia/survivalist groups are no way near as dangerous as foreign terrorist groups or the guerilla's in Iraq. They tend to be more concerned with their own survival - I've never heard of any militia suicide attacks in the US.

Until they run foul of law enforcement most groups stay isolated by themselves, then when they do transgress the law sufficiently enough to warrant attention they usually end up doing a last stand Waco style, and that's always a lose situation.

The Anthrax outbreak in 2001 remains a public mystery, though it was traced to a US source - however that only means it originated from that source, not that it went from there straight into use.

Could've been an insurance scam gone wrong.

If they tried to torch a car/house/etc for the insurance and didn't think of the surrounding area catching alight.

Amen to that. Those boys with big ears have a serious hate for the civilised world...well, buildings made of bricks and concrete. Those FBI manhunts always end up in some secluded hut in the mountains that turns out to be a stockpile for weapons and some crazy religion. Waco, anyone?

I think personally that the militia are quietly stocking up food and water and just waiting in them thar hills.
Remember that Anthrax scare, where it turned out to be domestic? I wonder what happened to that?

If I were Bush, I'd be keeping an eye on those Virginia mountains, there are some seriously dedicated "patriots" with a lot more firepower than a few Iraqis hiding underground.

I didnt mean to imply these were terrorism, just that the prospect was raised earlier in the year.

By all accounts, internal US militia groups are getting a decisive, but low key, kicking. War in foreign place makes better tv than the ATF and FBI hauling away white rednecks etc...

Except they're in British Colombia and Portugal.
I warned the FBI about Hussein's dreaded "Snow Gun", and the likelihood of it being used in February of 2003, but did they listen? Did they hell, just as I warned NASA about Al Queda's new weapon "fire".
I said "Look, it'll be the driest, hottest summer for many a year, all it will take is a careless camper discarded a propane stove and you're looking at a potential threat from this 'Fire'"
They didnt listen.

I wonder what those internal militia groups in the U.S. are up to these days?

US intelligence warned back in February that starting forest fires could be a new form of attack for both international and national terrorist groups/disgruntled rednecks etc.
