MOD leave a bag out for incineration, containing a "media plan" relating to the Dr Kelly enquiry.
MOD spokesperson "Whoops, didn't think *that* was in there, silly us! Of course we meant to keep it. Honestly, how did this happen? Tcha!"

Hmmmmmmmm

Ashdown was great. When he was at the helm the Lib Dems seemed like a great party who were capable of so much more than the usual suspects.

Kennedy had a tough act to follow, but even giving a little grace for that, he's not really measured up, IMO.

Good. I don't see the Lib Dem's as evil (hence only 2 evils) I see them as good caretakers.

Hmmm...it's hard to think of a reason to trust Blair rather than vice-versa.

I think the reason I dont trust Blair was his comment regarding the next general election

"My desire for power is undiminished"

I think he's more interested in securing his place in history than he is actually trying to fix this country.

Sorry, but if the Lib Dems ever get in I'll seriously see about emigrating. I believe Kennedy's causes only go as far as whatever will grab him a little bit of popular support - like any other politician then in that respect, but he's too obvious about it. No passion for his causes.

Say what you want about Blair but I think he really believed what he said regarding Iraq, and his speeches, though written by others, were quite brilliant, not 'Kennedy' brilliant, but not bad all the same.

2 evils?

The Libdems are up 2 points in polls whilst both Labour and the Tories are in freefall. It would seem that people are finally beginning to remember that there are more than 2 political choices to make in this country...

I believe it is time for Blair to go. I still see Labour as the lesser of two evils however. :)

I'm not going to start expressing my views on the death of Dr Kelly, because they veer between conspiracy theory hokum and an honest disbelief it happened - without things like heart monitor pads...which just makes it seem really, really odd.

Hoon's actions of going on holiday instead of attending the funeral, Blair's spokesman making smear attempts before the body is in the ground, his refusal to testify at hearings at sending Alistair Campbell - a non-elected representative - it reeks of arrogance and a disdain for the public.

This whole invasion thing has tainted what trust remained between public/media/government, and an innocent man died/committed suicide/was murdered.

It's just not right.

The "Spin" has been used too much. I now look at every government statement and action with suspicion.

They should have kept the use of "Spin" to a minimum until they really needed it, say a time of war for instance. Unfortunately because they've already exhausted people's tolerance for "Spin" and propaganda was severely weakened when it appears the government needs it most.

Whilst I usually defend the government on things like this, the heart monitors thing is, to me, very suspicious. On the one had there appears to be a legitimate need for them, on the other... The problem now is that just about everyone has something where they suspect the truth is missing. Sure, no government tells the truth all the time, but it at least gives the illusion it does to enough people to make the system work.

Whilst Blair is, I believe, a good man, it's time to go, along with Labour.
