It's the presses sick attitude. Pretty girls who have run away make the papers some 16 year old guy disappearing doesn't.
It sells papers. The public loves a tragedy and loves to ogle death and murder.
That's why there are so many of these rancid programmes on tv like Midsommer Murder/PD James adaptations/Vice/Cracker etc etc.
That's why traffic jams form at accidents with people slowing to look.
That's why "World's dullest cop car death!" shows are shown.
That's why people download clips of murders/email pics of dismemberments
That's why idiots want to watch Terminator 3 and see destruction and killing instead of watching something intelligent with a purpose.
That's why Big Brother is talked about
People are stupid, mindless drones that get off on violence and murder and blood and gore.
That's why 2 little white girls get national coverage and, as Bell points out, the torso of a small black boy merits nothing.
Murder sells.
Murder of white kids sell more.
Iraq? Means nothing but tv-entertainment instant-bomb-death to most of you, watching satellite footage of buildings being hit.
Murder sells.
Death sells.
yes but i would not hate so much that i would kill.
Angel - you say you dislike all the hate in the world, yet you also say that you hope they get whats coming to them. Isn't that not hate in itself, of them and what they did ?
As Firebrand points out, they weren't the only ones to die that day. Right now, in Liberia, thousands are dead, more dying, right now. They're faceless, you won't see the Sun campaigning for them. Why is it worse for a nation to supposedly focus on the death of two girls, when the same nation watches it's tv screens and sees thousands die every day
In Iraq children are still dying. Provinces of Indonesia are engaged in a brutal rebellion, even in the UK, children will dies today. A while back, a kid's dismembered body was found in the Thames, the Police now have those they think responsible, but that case got little public sympathy other than a brief newsbite.
I'm not angry at hate in the world, I'm angry that we have the power - financially, politically, militarily - to stop the deaths of tens of thousands of adults and children everyday and that these people go unmourned because they had the bad luck to be born in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I'm angry that people here live in poverty and misery when we have the power to change that, there is no reason that every person in this country should not have food, housing, social security and decent health - and this goes for any western country there is.
I'm angry that those who can change things are too busy arguing why they shouldn't than actually just doing it.
This could be a so much finer world.
Rant over, go back to watching Big Brother/other mindless trash on tv.
Them too poor little girls are no longer here because they felt like being total loosers. I dont understand though why people feel the need to kill others. Its happening so much everywhere and it really annoys me that theres so much hate in the world.
I hope he gets batty-f**ked to death in prison.
By a diseased donkey called Daniel.
To be honest, they weren't significant people, and so shouldn't have so much attention devoted to them whenI'm that, on this very day, someone somewhere in the world passed on via whatever means who was far more worthy of remembrance.
