I have to agree with Mark 'Chopper' Read on this one.

Scum like ian huntley should be put into a punishment battalion, and forced to work in the job of 'cannon fodder' for the british army.

it is a waste of man power to have this guy locked up, being fed, watered and having access to tellies, gym equipment and even luxuries like smoking, soaking up tax payers money, existing for no purpose.

get him doing something constructive for the country, and if he refuses, maybe he should be set free in soham village center, on a sunday afternoon, after the whole surrounding area has had prior notice.

The thing about the easily preventable diseases, there is uproar at the moment because companies like Monsanto and Glaxxo will not relax the patent, allowing cheaper versions to be made available to these countries that have nothing.
A disease so simple to cure as diarohhea, obliterated with a 4c solution, is spreading because pharmaceutical companies in The West dont want to make profit margins smaller.

But if I remember rightly, there is currently some hoo-ha about Glaxxo agreeing? Something about retroviral immunisation?

Exactly. World Bank and IMF policies cripple these countries meaning little to no government funded welfare state. The only people which will look after you is your family, hence it's in your interest to make sure it's a large one, because as Light points out, odds are a lot of your kids will die from diseases.

These aren't killer diseases, we're not talking plague etc, we're talking about diarhea (spelt wrong I know), malnutrition, colds, phneumonia, the kind of thing we go down to the doctors for or buy some medicine from the store.

It's easy to take the view that these countries mean nothing to us, that charity does indeed start at home. But to me there seems something wrong with that.

On another note, peacekeepers - all 30 of them - landed in Monrovia today. Nice white helicopters, shiny new weapons, secured the airport, done nothing else. Watch tonight for the 30 second footage before we discuss tha latest celebrity moron...

My understanding of the high birth rate in developing countries was that the parents need to have someone to look after them when they get too old/injured/ill to work. As the mortality rate is so high, then people have lots of kids to ensure that at least some of them will survive.

Basically, that's the way the whole world was until a few hundred years ago. We now have the luxury of a low death rate and improved medicine, hence we can have one or two kids per family and invest all of our time and love into them. Developing nations, particular rural and inner city areas, don't have that luxury.

That's where the money is though. The masses lap it up.

I know what you mean though. Luckily London has specialist cinemas that show lesser known films. Not that I often go to see them. I usually wait until they're released on DVD...

I was not being literal and offering a list of 3 films that define whether you are intelligent.
My point is, drek like 2 fast 2 furious, Tomb Raider, scary movie, dumb and dumberer etc etc etc are pointless exercises in stupidity and soul-less money making.
And there are enough of these spastics that will go.
Example:
Fellowship of The Ring - it ended, some chimp behind me "Is that it? Wot abaaaat the ring? Wot a load of sheeet"

People like that are the reason Big Brother is on tv, why I have to go to specialist cinemas to watch a Paul Thomas Anderson movie and why Scorcese has never won an Oscar.
Most people are retards and just want pretty colours and lights and explosions.

Most people like watching soap operas and Police Camera! shows and willingly lust after stupidity.
Most people, not all but most, need to be locked away for their own good.
But they wont, they'll reproduce and deliver more slack-jawed apes into the world. It's filling up with zombies.
