The cost of production and the selling price will be different. The cost to make it will be huge the NV20 GFX sell for around £400 alone, add on a £50 Hard drive, £100 MoBo and CPU, sound, memory ....

These will obviouly be cheaper when in bulk purchse although I have already reduced the costs of the MoBo, CPU and HD somewhat. However Micro$oft will make a loss selling them (making profits from the games) so the final price will be around £300 .

As far as I can see, we cannot fairly predict the price yet. Many rumours said the PS2 would be £600! Therefore the price could be anything, but I think microsoft would prefer to compete with other consoles by keeping the price <£400.

Any higher than that, and by the end of the year you will be able to buy what is now a pretty decent PC for that price, and microsoft, I'm pretty sure, won't want to, and won't be able to compete with PC's like that!

Alls well trying to guest the prices but this is the thing is it going to be a pc pretending to be a console or a consle pretending to be a PC. This is wot its coming to the crush point the price is going to be life or death for the Xbox.
If the price is to hi u might as well get a PC and have more capables for the same amount of money.
SO PEOPLE ITS ALL UP TO THE PRICE if this is going to be a extreme mean console or a graded down PC!

Grow up!

It's blatantly (look it up in the dictionary) obvious that you are only about 5 years old, does mummy and daddy know you are using the computer?

I bet you're looking forward to school on monday, you can finish off those potty training lessons you started in january. After that, dont you have painting b numbers? Try and stay within the lines this time young man!

Oh yeah, swearing shows a lack of vocabluary and intellingce and is not big and hard at all.

SORT IT OUT!

That's what I like to see!! A finely tuned, constructive , fact based argument.
I would suggest that you stop blindly following Bill and realise that I was only stating information that I relieved from a legitimate source.
If you cannot handle that then I suggest that you get some anger management councilling.... ;P

Finally the fact that you question my hetrosexuality over my choice of console questions your interlect more than anything else. If calling someone 'gay' is your idea of a well placed argument, then I suggest that you go back to your Wrestling Forums and stay there.

today i got an e-mail saying

"They're definitely not going to go above $300," Olhava said of the Xbox's
price. "The worst-case scenario is it's going to $299. The best case is
that Microsoft drops the price down to $279, to undercut Sony a little."
