Solskjaer i have immense amounts of respect for your posting on this forum but you are severly annoying me with your persistent rants that abrahamovich will ruin british football, when this is clearly bull, The only thing that abramovich is threatening is to upset the monopoly at the top which is the reason why the man utd and arsenal fans are the ones who are the most rattled and the reason why they are the ones who instantly condemned it, where as other managers such as bobby robson said: fairplay it will make things harder and chelsea have signed some top players i would have loved to get my hands on.
Man utd have spent almost 100 million on players in the last 2 years! a 20 mill+ player is becoming the norm, only for man utd in this country. They signed Veron and van nistelooy for this 2 summers ago, ferdinand last summer and only didn't repeat it so far this summer because ronaldinho screwed them over.
Your wage structure is the most inflated in the league at the mo, You had beckham and Keane both on or around the 100k a week mark yet dare to complain about chelsea, Gigs, Ferdinand etc are on contracts that would butt every one at chelsea to shame with the exception of Hasselbaink who infairness justified his wages when the contract was awarded. Man Utd have been frivolous with money and now something threatens that, it may not happen but them, their, their manager and all their fans no it could and that unsettles them greatly, how many fair weather "prawn sandwich munchers" and misled chinese people are gonna support a beckhamless united if chelsea won consecutive titles and had a real madrid-esque team. This situation hasn't arisen yet, but howlong do you think the glory boys will hang around for? From your opinions in the sports forums and other posts i imagine you are "united till you die" but lets face it at least 70% are in it for the glory.
A team with the likes of Nesta, Campbell, thuram, nedved, viera, vieri, emerson, crespo, would grab pretty much every glory boy in the world. Ok a team like that is so unlikely it doesn't bear thinking about but you know what i mean a team of expensively assembled stars will pull interest away from united and that all means a fall in profits and an end of the big money days for united. I don't forsee this really happening and would be happy if we one the league once in the next 4 or five years and had a good go at europe. But arsenal fans are feeling a lot more vulnerable Not only are they under the far more likely threat of becoming the number 2 team in london they are also looking at the possibility of finishing outside the top 2, this is actually a very likely situation. I reckon as things stand united are likely to take the title as they have a quality and more important solid team that has played regularly together, however arseenals team is so precariously balanced it can't afford not to suceed, I don't think any one would disagree that viera is critical to arsenal and his future is still undecided as is pires' these are uncertain times at hihbury and anything other than securing these players and success could so easily lead to a complete crumbling as they have nowhere near the security man utd or chelsea have.
The way I look at it man utd and arsenal are still the big 2, but they and everyone else know the threat is there and although it is only a possibility the domestic dominance could quite easily broken, and even if chelsea don't suceed arsenal know they are in there dodgiest position since wenger took charge. Anyway My main point is that it is completely unreasonble for Man utd fans to condemn what is happening at chelsea when they have been exerting the same financial muscle to a greater extent is completely unreasonable, Although Man utd's wealth is built on the spoils of success you are still the ones who completely changed the face of british wage structures and have set the bench mark for excessive spending.

Do it in french instead, that should help them :D

Mind you, if i were a billionaire i'd buy Stevenage and take them to the premiership!
Also it's introducing more competition for the title which can only be a good thing as it should make the league even more exciting. As a United fan, sure i'd love to see everyone else have a squad load of losers and we just trounce them 6-0 every week, but by January exactly what would there to be excited about? We'd have won the league almost and it'd just be boring. Competition adds to the excitement and just as long as United are at the top come May and every game has been exciting to watch that's all that matters.
Why everyone is outraged at Roman for daring to spend his money i don't know. Probably just scared there'll be a new name on the Prem trophy (though don't bet on it)
Yes they have come into power with X amount of millions and its inevitable that the papers would link they with silly bids for the worlds best - but it's only media talk.
However, Chelsea have barely used any kind of youth policy with only
Terry being the main 'success' from the lot and Cole coming through the ranks - but will he be given a chance? that's something we will have to see.
United on the other hand have mainly spent in the last few years to try and compete for the champions league - before that was a blend of Youth and 'cheaper' buys ala Cantona/Pallister/Bruc/Hughes etc
United's Wage structure has always been balanced because the PLC refusing to pay silly amounts - one of the main reasons why we were never able to buy people like Kluivert.
In recent years more leniacy has been given by the PLC allowing use to flex the wage structure further, but other than Rio, Keane and Becks noone else is on a 'inflated wage' but mere averagae if you compare it to

I don't agree there - if this was the case why on earth do United get a sold out 67000 stadium a week? why would Glory fans pay money to go watch a team if they weren't bothered about them? doesn't make sense.
Obviously there are glory supporters out there for ALL clubs not just United, yet this seems to be particualrly aimed at United.
The things is, Chelsea have bought well and they will no doubt improve from last year and im glad because Arsenal fans did get a little over their heads last season so it will make them look over their backs a bit - but you can't just buy players, to win something - they have to be solid, play and gel as a team - something which United have done for the past 12 years and Arsenal of late, so it will be down to Chelsea to try and match that.
Just because Abramovich has money to burn, doesn't mean they are suddenly in possession of a sound financial structure.
My point is that should UEFA bring in the proposals to restrict player wages to a % of club income, Utd will sally forth, while chelsea will have a problem, unless of course, abramovich starts buying Chelsea shirts by the million to pump up the turnover.
