Most classics suck. Except perhaps for The Chaos Engine.

It's not free anymore, shame, there's a couple of games on there I would like - especially as my laptop has no 3D card, costs £10 a year now :(

Hell. Thank God I downloaded a load of games from the site onto a CD-ROM in 2001. Did the same with Freeloader.
But then, the golden age of shareware ended in the mid-90s.
