We started discussing which was better, RAW and Smackdown, me and this guy called Sam mainly. He was all for RAW and I argued that despite RAW having the better roster, Smackdown has the better wrestling.
But, we both agreed that RAW could be better if it utilised the talent it has.
In the end, we decided that to get our creative juices flowing (ewww) we would do our own roster split and write our own shows for a month. However the current champions would be kept the same, and since he is writing RAW, that means he gets HHH as World Champ, Booker T as IC etc. and I get Angle as WWE, Guerrero as US etc.
We also have 4 mates who are gonna read all the shows and decide which was more entertaining. Because we each have a lot of superstars and wanna use a lot of them, we've decided on 7-8 matches a show, as well as backstage segments, interviews etc.
Anyway, the first show must be done by Thursday night and I'm thinking of posting them both on here too, see what ya think. I don't mind if you say his is better though, he's a knowledgeable wrestling fan too. {:)
Anyway, here's my final roster:
SMACKDOWN ROSTER
Champions
Kurt Angle – WWE Champion
Eddie Guerrero – US Champion
Rey Mysterio – Cruiserweight Champion
Charlie Haas – WWE Tag Team Champion
Shelton Benjamin – WWE Tag Team Champion
**Main Eventers**
The Rock
Chris Benoit
Scott Steiner
Chris Jericho
Brock Lesnar
Edge
John Cena
**Cruiserweights**
Billy Kidman
Shannon Moore
Chavo Guerrero
Scotty 2 Hotty
Grandmaster Sexay
Juvi Guerrera
Ultimo Dragon
Jamie Noble
Nunzio
Spanky
**Others**
Chuck Palumbo
Matt Hardy Version 1.0
Rikishi
Test
Sean O’Haire
We did a random draw on main eventers and at first I was given a very rough deal - as well as Triple H who he already had, he got Kane, RVD, Goldberg, Austin and Lesnar. It was a bit fairer when he got Big Show and Kevin Nash though. {:)
I also had HBK and The Undertaker. However, I have plans for Lesnar, and so forced a little trade - HBK and Taker for Lesnar. I'll miss HBK but not Taker particularly.
My mate forgot to count Jericho as a main eventer and fortunately I was able to have him, but Sam was then allowed the first 3 picks of the rest, and I think he went for Rhyno, Christian (damn) and Goldust.
We were also allowed to bring 3 new wrestlers in, so I've decided to bring back Too Cool (whooooooooooooo!) and also brought in Juvi Guerrera for my Cruiser division. Sam brought in Road Dogg, Sting (I think) and Bret Hart.
Overall I'm pretty happy - I got lots of cruiserweights, and definitely have the younger roster. I'm very happy with the main event - Jericho, Cena and Lesnar are all there, and I have big plans for them. I also have some ideas for people like Matt Hardy, Billy Kidman and Too Cool.
We'll write a show each week leading up to SummerSlam, where we'll combine our efforts. {:)
