what do you think of the proposed plan to give on the spot fines (about £50) for littering. i think its a good idea after noticing the state of the streets years ago here in london. i hope this money is recycled into cleaning up the streets and that the £413mil that is spent on litter in the streets etc. every year can slowly been cut down, aswell as the amount of rubbish lining our roads.

On the spot meaning you have to hand over the cash right then and there? If so, that's a dumb idea.

why not just have bobbies on the beat, or just wardens. wardens could fine for littering and parking.

I agree. Also those annoying basts who hand out leaflets, well in fact: try and shove them into your face, should be made repsonsible for cleaning up all leaflets that get (instantly) dropped onto the pavement. The problem with spot fines however is that you need people to enforce them. So in a city like London you can envisage our pavements patrolled by traffic wardens, litter wardens, walking wardens, language wardens and warden wardens.

Large men with cattle prods would be more presuasive.
