In Special Reserve i have was looking at the soundcard you can buy which works with a PC and Laptop i think it works via the USB Port, i was wondering if anyone knew of a Graphics Card which does this as i would like to update my graphics card and this is the only way it actually seems possible. Also is it possible to have a Sound or Graphics card in the form of a PCMCIA Card?
Is it possible to Buy a new Harddrive for a laptop or some more RAM?

Don't forget the PS2 only has 4mb of memory.

That doesn't really apply though.

If your bios has a section to change the video ram then wack it up but it may not and you may only have 8mb physical Vram, if this is the case then there is not much you can do apart from get a new notebook with a good graphics card, sorry, have you actually tried running operation flashpoint on your notebook yet, If so and it runs bad then try putting all the setting down and making sure there are no thread hungry applications open, this may increase performance but more system memory allways helps performance.

The quantity of video memory can be a big bottleneck if you're trying to play 3D games such as Operation Flashpoint though.

The difference in the amount of memory on a graphics chipset stopped being the deciding factor on speed long ago, it's all about the gpu/ram speeds, bandwidth, pixel pipelines and 101 other things other than memory. Each new release of a graphics card improves these other factors, they don't just increase the amount of memory usually as the difference it makes is negligable.

It's a more noticeable improvement on laptops, but it can only be done by the user if you have a graphic chipset sharing the PCs memory - you couldn't do it yourself with a normal graphics card.

I could play Operation Flashpoint all night if i could boost up my graphics card, but i thought that if you were able to share your memory about wouldn't the graphics card business start going bust and whats the point of bringing out new ones....i probably got the wrong end of the stick, but i dunno.....

Mine is 64mb I think, can't find anything anywhere allowing me to alter sahred memory. So it will have to stay as it is. Radeon 3D chip would have been nice but never mind ....

Also, I would like to try and get a video card/adaptor with RF/AV input for my laptop, any ideas ?

If it's adjustable it should be a BIOS setting.

can't find shared memory anywhere (including BIOS) is that because my graphics are on the onboard intel chip ? and shared memory can't be adjusted ?

Anything else I can do ?
