A while ago you mentioned you're brother wanting a script to change the bgcolor's of table cells when you moused over them.

At the time it was hindered by the fact that he could change the HTML of the table.

Well, today I wrote a (really simple, easy) script that allows you to do just what he wants without altering the HTML. If you're still interested let me know and I'll get it to you.

I can't believe it didn't hit me at the time that you could do it the way I just have. Brain-deadness...

onabort :-D

function abuse()
{
alert('I\'m gonna beat yo punkass down unless you reload')
}

window.onabort=abuse

heheh :-D

Or you could just be really annoying and do location.reload() onabort :-D

Cool. Did you know that there's an event handler for when a user stops loading a page? Useless but interesting nontheless :-D

Oh, and it works for document.all[imgID].src too.

Yes, you can use id's and then document.getElementById(imgId).src=whatever.src, it works just like a named rollover.

Ah, very good. But what happens for non-javascript users??

Also, I wanted to ask you (as you seem to know your JavaScript stuff) can you refer to images via an ID rather than a NAME, for things like rollovers??

It's just I'm trying to get a particular page xHTML 1.1 validated, but the NAME attribute within each IMG tag is throwing it, but I use the NAME for the rollover referances. Any ideas?

Heh, thanks again. I also like that (a lot shorter and simpler) script. Try the "customer comments" link as well :-D

Heheh, cheers. I love that script; it took me 2 days to write and iron out all the creases (wrote it earlier this year). I've also got a Click variant of it :-D

Heh. Looks like it has potential just without Times New Roman I hope ;-)
