The latest news is that since scientists were given the go ahead to start using human embryos for cloning a month or two back, we are now approaching the stage where the first human will be cloned in about 6 months time, if not sooner. (It was on the news last night).

Now, a human being is a pretty complicated thing, lots of nerves that have to be joined up, lots of complicated organs that have to function as a team, lots of veins and cells and stuff, as well of genes.

A console isn't. Every part and function is known. Every part and function has a defined place. Replace these simple parts with bio-parts (nanotechnology), and why not start growing your own consoles?

Now that the human genome has been fully mapped, we know roughly what does what in the human body and have the ability to 'tweak' a gene or two for optimal performance. You could do the same with a bio-console. Getting jagged edges to a graphic? Tweak. Getting noticable slowdown on multiplayer mode? Tweak.

Bio-consoles could offer this versatility. Wonder what you'd feed them on though?
