I recently bought a DVD writer, and do not have enough ports on my computer to put it in so i have bought an external mobile disk for it to go in...
It just goes into that and then a USB wire goes from that into the back of my computer, it should now just show up as a DVD drive... But doesnt, it doesnt show up atall, it opens up allright and you can hear it spinning the disk around, but nothing comes up...
Does anyone know how to fix this problem as i need to write some DVD for mates, and i dont really want to be taking my CD-Rom and CD-Writer out just to plug that in to see if it works, because even if it did i wouldnt do that because my other to drives are good expencive ones...
Any help would be good please, thanks...

Ah, I must be mistaken then.

Anyway, you might as well just take the slot CD out. It'll be completely pointless being there.

There is only one port on the back of it and that is a USB one...

1394 is firewire, isn't it?

Have you tried the caddy with firewire?

Do you have two hard disks? And why don't you replace the CDROM drive? You have no use for it.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
