I haven't even seen the original and they go and do a remake!
Get yourself some Romero/Jackson movies.

That's not a no then....
:p
The reason the first film worked so well was that it was low budget, used Blair Witch style nobody actors for more realism, had an eerie, hot and unsettling atmosphere, and full of implied nastiness. It wasn’t action packed and full of well-endowed eye-candy, it was simple, eerie, unsettling, realistic horror.
I like the bit in the van near the beginning with the crazy guy who talks about “head cheese” and then cuts himself, that crazy guy.
What actually freaked me out more than the film though was part of the extras on the dvd (the US version, I don’t know if it’s on the UK one), it was about an hours worth of set footage, focusing on all the freaky items and furniture that filled the mad family’s house, and it had odd music accompanying it. It was a rather weird experience, as you had all these grotesque twisted items and this odd music.
All in all I'd say watch the original, don’t bother with the sequel.
Like watching a snuff movie or something, really quite

You've seen a snuff movie?

"you ARE dumb, pyle, but do you expect me to believe you don't know left from right?"
Just seen the trailer.
"From producer Michael Bay"
No no no no no
Looks absolutely awful, remade into a standard teen slasher movie with lots of pretty people running around screaming and showing off cleavage. This is not a film that needs to be remade. When will you Hollywood fat cats learn?
*shakes fist in general direction of America*
Although it does have R. Lee Ermey in it. Still...
No no no no no
It's a bit like Blair Witch in that respect - I saw Blair Witch way before all the hype started (before people even knew if it was fake or not) and it scared the absolute [expletive deleted] out of me. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen, but was compelled to finish watching it. It's a nasty, depraved picture.
A TCM remake? Pfft. What's the point?
