I'm mainly making this topic though to announce that I'm going to see them in October, as that's when they come back to London. They're just starting a European tour, coming back to the UK in the Autumn. Any of you lot going?
And the whole debate is pretty defunct seeing as the Darkness are "being ironic" anyway (I don't like using that phrase any more).
> The Streets aren't being ironic
Yes they are. The guy said he wanted to do a world tour whilst rapping from an autocue.
Whether or not The Darkness are similar to hair metal bands of yesteryear makes no difference to what they do, and listening to bands like Manowar won't change my opinion of them. Just because you like/dislike one band of a certain genre, it doesn't necessarily follow that that applies to the whole genre.
The Darkness - for people too young to remember how utterly pants hair-metal was.
Really, go listen to Ratt, Saxon, Manowar etc to see just how cringing The Darkness are.
The only consolation? 2 months from now it'll be "Who?"

Is this coming from the same man who likes The Streets?

Last time you posted this link, I just couldn't stop looking at this bloke.
In fact, I now have a copy of the picture saved on my PC.
Why is he standing in the toilets?
I really don't want to have shouty bum sex with him, but, I don't know, I find myself wanting to like The Darkness.
First time I heard them on the radio, I hated them though. I don't get it...?
The music was alright but they were very good entertainers. New how to handle the crowd, they were pretty good but i'll have to listen a bit more see if i like them.
The Guardian gave it 4/5
I say - it rocks. Go see them live as well you homophobes
