"Microsoft were accused of trying to bribe a senate select committie today. The committie was examining the finer points of the upcoming Microsoft split and was due to publish it's recommendations today.
At the time of going to press Bill Gates was unavailable to comment but a senior figure was heard to comment that the claims were "ridiculous".
The President is due to make a speech to Congress and it is hoped that this will clarify the governments stance on the alledged incident.
