This sounds quite interesting.
What you win, I don't know, but I can see a fair few of the crappy hosts going down, Freeola are pretty big so it will be interesting to see what happens...
And seeeing how Bargainhost got attacked a few months ago, I see them as potential target.
Now I'm not an expert on web security, but with 20,000 people trying, lets say 19,000 of them are little 11 year olds trying to 'hack' by entering random passwords, that leaves us with 1,000 people who know what they're doing...
It will be interesting.
And I want the people from Freeola to listen because I got loads of games and stuff up on my webspace and I don't want to have to upload them all again because:
a) It will take aaaaages
b) I haven't got them anymore!
*waits*
I love my games.
Plus they privide me with about 40000000% of my visitors!
If Freeola have any major doubts though, they'll shut down. Is it really worth the risk?
That would be the sensible thing to do, just in case.
But if you are conserned about your site, then it is worth the money to dial up and back it up .. as if Freeola are targeted, and they don't do a back-up, no amount of complaining will get you your site back.
It all depends on how much you want to ensure its still around later (just in case).
so basically i wanna download my site using broadband connection using one download.
Plus if a host liek Freeola has any doubts over their safety, all the have to do is put a notice out that the servers will be down during that time.
I doubt people will moan that much if it's the best way to prevent anything from going wrong...
> Well that's a contest for pathetic losers.
You entering ;c)
