First day at the glue factory today.
The temping agency had given me the part-time position, starting at 8.30.
I get there, they talk about how they want someone permanant, starting 8, and contradict the whole briefing from the agency.
Ah well, 8 am is a non-starter (transport), and there's no way in hell I'll be there for more than two or three months.

Didn't get near my job as machine operator on the production line either.
They did, however, let me spend the day unpacking some kind of adhesive from boxes of 12, repack in boxes of 6, and stack on pallets.
The place is too noisy to talk much, and nobody else had much to say anyway, so it was a fun day of work I could do with my eyes closed, in more or less solitude.
Lame.

The highlight of my day was when someone called over the tannoy for 'James Pond' to come to reception.
Which probably shows how exciting the day was.

Oh, and it was quite good when the woman gave me my swipe card, "...and come and give it back to me if you leave"
'If'?
Had a sudden cheap horror movie vibe then, which was nice.
Now that I think of it the (paper cut) scars on my hands and wrists sort of add to the factory killing people b-movie style thing too.
Not sure if it's a mad scientist or bunch of aliens behind it though...

I was quite surprised by the other workers there. I figured (correctly, I think) the work would be pretty lame, and was expecting relatively downtrodden people. Instead it looked like where all the popular kids from high school go to die.
Kind of glad I was a bit of a mis-fit now :^D
Hang on, I'm there too...

Ah well, hopefully it won't be for long.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
I am delighted.
Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do. I am delighted.
