But as usual, controversy is not far behind as Michael had a helping hand on his way to 5th place after somehow being the one to spin when he hit Montoya as Montie was going around the outside. Now i always thought the rule was that if a car can't move it's out the race and gets towed out the way but it seems that's not the case. Schumacher was beached in the gravel trap unable to move so i thought, that's it his second mistake of the season no points for him, but then the marshals came running over and pushed him back into the race, does the fact it was in Germany or just the fact it was Michael Schumacher make a difference or am i being a bit too cynical? Would the rules have been any different say if Montoya was the one to have been beached? Would he have been towed away instead of being allowed to carry on racing? I think so somehow.
From what Martin Brundle was saying if the car is in a dangerous position then it must be towed out the way and as he was sitting on the exit of a corner i deem that a dangerous position so why wasn't he retired? Of course Brundle himself said the rule was vague which obviously helps the officials get Schumacher out of trouble and penalise anyone else and the fact the officials were investigating Montoya for his move in the incident is laughable and well done to Brundle for saying if Montie was fined he'd pay it out of his own pocket.
Of course maybe i'm being a bit too suspicious :D
and also unlucky to Raikkonen who's engine gave up on him. Not a good day for McLaren what with Coulthard spinning out as well.
And if a spectator helped push the car, then Ferarri will probably be fined, and Schumacher will lose the points he picked up in the race. And if the spectator was one of the 'Schufosi', he'll be eaten alive.
And also in the same paper Ross Brawn has criticised Montoya for daring to overtake the 'master' Schumacher saying it was a dangerous move. Oh shut up Ross it was a perfectly safe move and he gave Schumacher enough track. Now what is a dangerous move is Schumacher swerving across the straight during the start of a grand prix, why aren't you complaining about that you little hypocrite? Just because Schumacher once again got shown up to be average by Montoya, in his own backyard may i add, is no need to be crying over something that was a perfectly legal overtaking move.
Coulthard contribution to the race was laughable.
Montoya's move was brilliant and nothing should happen except a lot of well deserved praise.
Alonso did a wonderful job in a sub standard car.
Heidfeld did an amazing job considering he was on the Bridgestone's and started from the pits.
Nice to see Webber and Button score points.
