Well it was a pretty decent grand prix with a Williams 1-2 with Schumacher junior picking up the win and another great move Montoya put on Michael (always nice to see Schumacher get put in his place by someone who isn't afraid to overtake him and make him look average) and a great defensive display from Alonso in a very ill Renault.
But as usual, controversy is not far behind as Michael had a helping hand on his way to 5th place after somehow being the one to spin when he hit Montoya as Montie was going around the outside. Now i always thought the rule was that if a car can't move it's out the race and gets towed out the way but it seems that's not the case. Schumacher was beached in the gravel trap unable to move so i thought, that's it his second mistake of the season no points for him, but then the marshals came running over and pushed him back into the race, does the fact it was in Germany or just the fact it was Michael Schumacher make a difference or am i being a bit too cynical? Would the rules have been any different say if Montoya was the one to have been beached? Would he have been towed away instead of being allowed to carry on racing? I think so somehow.
From what Martin Brundle was saying if the car is in a dangerous position then it must be towed out the way and as he was sitting on the exit of a corner i deem that a dangerous position so why wasn't he retired? Of course Brundle himself said the rule was vague which obviously helps the officials get Schumacher out of trouble and penalise anyone else and the fact the officials were investigating Montoya for his move in the incident is laughable and well done to Brundle for saying if Montie was fined he'd pay it out of his own pocket.

Of course maybe i'm being a bit too suspicious :D

and also unlucky to Raikkonen who's engine gave up on him. Not a good day for McLaren what with Coulthard spinning out as well.

I would think the stewards will be in hot water as well- it happened like that in Brazil after the confusion over who had won.

Would have thought the race organisers as well would be fined if a spectator is actually allowed to run onto the track or at least very near to it. Shows a lack of security.

I think it's just because brawn is power-hungry, after the farce he made out of the championship last year: he wants to win more, and as his asscociate Jean Todt once said: "Last year we did very well, but the aim for trhe future is for our cars to finish first and second at every race". In other words, Ferrari just want to dominate, and make thew sport a mockery in the process.

And if a spectator helped push the car, then Ferarri will probably be fined, and Schumacher will lose the points he picked up in the race. And if the spectator was one of the 'Schufosi', he'll be eaten alive.

Well i was reading the Sun today and Stan Piecha's take on the race as he's usually very accurate and he said that in amongst the marshals pushing the car back on the track was a spectator. Now if that is true then Schumacher should be disqualified as that means someone other than the marshals has interfered with the car. Whether it's actually right or not i don't know but it'll be interesting to see what the FIA does about it if it is.

And also in the same paper Ross Brawn has criticised Montoya for daring to overtake the 'master' Schumacher saying it was a dangerous move. Oh shut up Ross it was a perfectly safe move and he gave Schumacher enough track. Now what is a dangerous move is Schumacher swerving across the straight during the start of a grand prix, why aren't you complaining about that you little hypocrite? Just because Schumacher once again got shown up to be average by Montoya, in his own backyard may i add, is no need to be crying over something that was a perfectly legal overtaking move.

I missed the race. However, I'll point out this: Only race staff can move a car if they see it fit to, for example if there's no mechanical problem, just the car getting stuck on something, or a minor problem. Otherwise no-one, especially the team(in this case Ferarri)'s mechanics can go near- howver, they used to be able to, until this was deemed too dangerous because of the risk of getting run over. Splat.

I missed the F1 and it sounds like it was a good race as well. Well the results are ok as I don't want Mike Sch to win it again.

Ah well it's Schumacher i'm not surprised to see him be able to get away with it, i'm just glad to have seen Montoya make him look very ordinary once again.

The 'beached' rule is there in case of a car spinning and getting stuck on high kerbing in a dangerous position, say for instance Monaco. Perhaps Ferrari pushed the rules to the limit of it's wording but they are entitled to do that.

Well if that is the case i'll be looking at the races very closely to see if this happens to anyone else and whether they get pushed out. However i always thought if a car is beached then it can't move meaning it's out the race.

The rule on the Schumacher incident is that if the car is in a dangerous position and the engine is still running, he is allowed to get assistance from the marshalls. Schumacher's car was in a dangerous position and was entitled to get a release from that.

Coulthard contribution to the race was laughable.

Montoya's move was brilliant and nothing should happen except a lot of well deserved praise.

Alonso did a wonderful job in a sub standard car.

Heidfeld did an amazing job considering he was on the Bridgestone's and started from the pits.

Nice to see Webber and Button score points.
