"I hate to lend credit to this ongoing rumor, too, but I figure I can't ignore it. At least one industry insider I spoke with brought up the whole Microsoft/Nintendo union; apparently Microsoft -- more than Nintendo -- is interested in some kind of partnership.

There are a few other smaller bits here and there, but I don't feel comfortable posting them yet. Note that while I do trust my sources on this information (they've come through dozens of times in the past), it's still so early on that anything can happen."

Hmmmm intresting, would certainly be one way of ensuring that Nintendo stay in the buisness and also only support one console.

If they joined and it really was a 50 50 partenership then it would so rule. Best part would be that Sony would get beaten. HARD!

Exactly.

That would certainly create the best console ever.

But as long as both companies had equal influence over the console.

As long as Microsoft don't influence Nintendo's games in any way (other than in an F-zero kind of way where they make a game on behalf of Nintendo, sticking to certain rules) then I think it 'could' be a good thing. It would certainly benefit Microsoft who seem to be doing pretty bad in Japan, despite the Japanese being big fans of DOA Beach Volleyball. As for Nintendo, if Halo 3 was on a Nintendo-branded console, with the Official Seal of Quality, etc, etc, it would put Nintendo right back on top where they belong.

Yes, that last comment probably sounds fanboyish, but I believe Nintendo's efforts have been far greater than any they have done before, and they deserve to do better.

So long as it's a 50 50 partnership and not Nintendo just becoming a part of Microsoft.

The dream would be for Microsoft to get in with Nintendo and produce games and generally dish out the cash and take care of advertising etc and then for them to show Sony that they ain't THAT good.

As long as Nintendo still have control over quality of games etc it would be a great move.
