I put this to you, which is the best music festival around?

There are the English festivals such as:

- Download festival
- V2003
- Reading/Leeds festival
- Party in the park

amongst others

Then other, larger scale festivals such as Ozzfest etc

So what do you reckon is the best music festival around?

Monsters Of Rock used to be the best.

1987 Iron Maiden. Loudest gig ever.

The Ozzfest has HIM playing this year! Although people there are going to be subjected to the attitude of Kelly Osbourne so I think I'll wait for the proper HIM tour.

Anyways I'm off to Reading this year, should be quite good, the Whitestripes are there so that's good although most bands seem to be the ones that I just see as "ok-ish" so I'll be needing a lot of alcohol/drugs to see me though.

i haven't been to a festival yet, which is a shame as I want to.

I would imagine the best ones would have some excellent modern rock/indy bands on during the day, aswell as a lot of 'old classics' (early 90s). NONE of this cheesy pop crap that we see in the charts. And at night, lots of very good dance such as chemical brothers, prodigy, fat-boy slim, moby, orbital .... yadda yadda yadda. the beer would be cheap also, and it would be infested with luvverly laydeez

Glastonbury isn't by far the best lineup at all, except Radiohead and a few others, it's pretty naff. With all the hype, it looked like it was going to be amazing, but websites were just naming random bands and saying they were performing. What happened to Prince, Rolling Stones, Counting Crows, Muse etc. etc. Surprised they never confirmed The Beatles to reform and open the Pyramid Stage.

It's nothing special at all, it's got to be the most over hyped line up ever. I'd still like to go because the atmosphere is meant to be fantastic, but I'm not bothered about not going. If Radiohead weren't playing, the line up would suck, except for a few bands on the smaller stage and the Manics.

that is a point, a supersoaker is an essential. I may have to use it on the yeah yeah yeahs, unless karen o is wearing a white t-shirt. The results could be awful.

glastonbury is by far the best this year. Its gonna go down as one of the best glastos ever. Sadly im not goin, im goin reading tho.

Whilst reading is still not great its getting better - blur, white stripes, beck, mars volta, mark lanegan, darkness, electric 6, soad, metallica, junior senior, datsuns r all worth seeing, tho linkin park headlining still sucks.

Glastonbury by far the greatest. I don't think there are many crap performers there. I think Reading is looking one of the weaker festivals this year.
