He's supposedly after Ronaldinho now. If he doesn't land Ronny i can very well see him being booted out without him even being able to move all his stuff into his office.

I bet Barca fans are calling for his head already - and he's only been in the job 3-days! That must be some kind of world-record?! ;)


It was obvious he was only ever using the "Beckham Promise" as a gimmick-type-thing to draw the attention away from his opponents, and onto nothing but voting for him. And now the news is out - loud-and-clear.


But for just how-much-longer will Laporta remain as Barcelona's president, after already breaking-a-promise to the fans within week 1?
Do they feel they can ever trust him again??

Anyway back to the original topic.

I wonder what Laporta is going to say now that Becks is going to Real after promising that if he was elected he'd sign him. A bit of egg on his face there me thinks.

Beckham had been largely ineffective in the last 3 games against Real madrid so it was good sense not to play him. Leaving players on the bench can make them more determined and thats probably what happened with him against Real when he was brought on. Not to mention most of the other players being knackered in a free flowing end to end game.
