When the news first arose of David Beckham and a possible departure from Old Trafford to the high-life in Spain of Italy, I was always one of those people who was convinced he'd be staying, due to his strong relationship and love for the club. But then I remembered Victoria...

Even Beckham himself had been quoted as saying he's be happy to stay, back in the early-days of all this talk and speculation.
But now it all seems to have changed... And over this very weekend we've all read from the man himself about how he never said that either finishing his career with United, or staying at the club for the near future, we're 'certain' parts of his immediate plans!

Why have his views changed? I do not know, exactly.
But I'd say it's a safe-bet to say that is in-control wife is behind it all!

Think about it - her career's now as good as over!
She is now known as only a well-known "footballer's wife", with a singing career that went down-the-drain some time ago.

But if she moved abroad, to a place "what it's all at" - just like Milan, more-so than any other place - she could start rebuilding, and begin to get it all back again in the "fashion-capital of the world".

Trend-setting people in a trendy place - that's the way it works.

And David Beckham is hardly the type of person to say "No" to her, so his football career must take another new direction, and to perhaps even suffer, because of it.

-----

And that is basically why I am almost convinced David Beckham WILL be leaving Manchester United this Summer, all thanks to Victoria.
And to AC Milan of all-places, where, unlike at Barca or Real, he can easily become the "hero" there, with no real Zidane's or Kluivert's to get in his way.

United will, apparently, accpet bids of around £35m, also.
Let's hope it's spent wisely...! :)

It's only rumours that real madrid want beckham, because i'm a real madrid fan, i always check the madrid site and there's nothing about beckham comming to real madrid, to be hounest he has no chance of getting figo's place, because beckham has never won a world player award, he can only croos a ball and take freat free-kicks, as you have seen figo can take just as better free-kicks as beckham, he can dribble and do great skills, which mr.beckham cannot do, I rather have him got to barcelona.

I always thought he was over rated to be honest.

Yes, but Seaman thought it was an indirect kick. and he COULD well have saved it if he knew that Ronaldinho would take it that early. He was merely caught unawares. But great strategy, and a great bit of swing!

I dont buy that. And dont forget Ronaldinho will be less than 1/3 the price of Beckhams tag. Not to mention 5 years younger.

Ronaldinho = key figure in world cup winning team. Just look @ how he destroyed England before he got set off. Especially how he set up Rivaldo's goal

Beckham = First choice free kick taker....

I don't think Ronaldinho's as good as Beckham, and United would be wrong to sell to him. Beckham is a Man United fan, and has alwaysa been loyal to his club. We don't want to see him leave, none of the United fans.

Once again though i hope Fergie has learned his lesson after the 'trying to find a decent defender now i've sold Stam' saga and buys before he sells.
What's the use in selling Beckham if then we can't buy Ronaldinho or Quaresma? We're left with a big gap down the right and our squad has decreased in quality rather than improved just like when Stam went and Blanc came in.

Beckham did say this weekend that "As long as they want me, then I'll stay"

And you cant really blame Beckham wanting to try a new club, especially when he has done it all at OT. To prove yourself as a truly great player you have to play all over the place. Like Maradona, Seedorf, Ronaldo, Zidane etc...

Although I think its more of a case of the united board wanting to cash in than Beckham wanting to leave.

A move abroad could improve Beckham as a player and that would be good for England, would it not?

Personally i'll be glad to see the back of him (and his talentless wife) if we get £35 Million+ in the transfer fee and maybe even a player chucked in to sweeten the deal.
£35 Mil for a winger who can't even dribble down the wing with the ball is a great deal for us and believe me if he goes to Italy he'll be found out to be the one trick pony he is. If he thinks Roy Keane closes him down quickly in training he hasn't seen anything yet with the Italian style of defending where you get about a second to do something with the ball - if you're lucky. None of this lining up a cross, eating a sandwich, drinking a cup of tea, waving to Brooklyn in the crowd before finally crossing it in while the defenders watch he currently experiences.

I say sell him and with the money buy about 3 or 4 real quality players.
