I found it really interesting to see what gos on behind the scenes - of the wrestler's lives bit, only Foley's was interesting. You never think of the impact of matches when your watching, so that was a bit thought provoking. And I swear you can see his skull through that cut afterwards. You could also tell that The Rock knew he was a bit out of order after hitting with the chair about 10 times, then having to explain his actions when Foley's got a massive bandage.
Also interesting to see how the production works (I never knew wrestlers were told where to look into camera, there's a guy backstage speaking to commentators and feeding them lines etc). Although there's not much in the way of brutal matches like the cover implies, twas still pretty good viewing - a Beyond the Mat 2, looking at some of today's guys, would be pretty good.
Oh, and was that guy with blood trickling down his face a pre-goatee Spike Dudley?
I could have, but I'm lazy.
I'm off to watch Smallville, keep this going so I have soemthing to laugh at when I wake up tomorrow.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAH! :D
Gawd, keep this topic going lads, you're cracking me up :D
"What's this, Terry Funk is hobbling on the floor, he's taking the goddam wheelchair of the competitor as well"
"OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDD!!"
"CON-(WHEEL)CHAIR-TO!"
:D
I enjoyed Beyond The Mat greatly, but was saddened to hear some of the stuff Jake The Snake came out with, like his sister being murdered and her body never being found.
I laughed when they showed Paul Heyman doing ECW interviews in his house whilst his mother does the ironing. Superb. He even got Joey Styles in :D
Blaustein has to make a second one.
Brilliant.
