I really don't see why so-many people are willing to spend so-much on just one-car, for several reasons...
-You can't predict what the traffic's going to be like on your next journey, so you never know what motorway-accident, or "Maurene" learner-driver may lie-ahead. It's not like the average standard of driving is really that-good these days, and it seems we read about overturned lorries and that on a daily-basis.
-The cost of it all! Paying upto £100,00 for the actual car (more, if you're name's David Beckham), and then another geat, whopping load on insurance, every-year. Sure, it doesn't matter if you're a footballer, but you see all-sorts driving Mercedes' and Porsche's that you know they could surely, never afford - not with the size of their mansions, anyway.
-Speed-limits. You can drive wherever you like across the country, but you won't find a legal speed-limit at anything higher than 70mph.
So why the heck do people spend so-much on a brand-new car because of it's top-speed, when they'll never get to actually GO that fast, without the threat of losing their license, and the abillity to drive that car, full-stop?!? That's what I really don't understand!
-And then, people who buy these cars seems to think that they 'own the roads' or something, and that they can then just race-around, driving as recklessly as they like, without even the slightest bit of car for anyone else around them. Owning something expensive turns you into a kind of 'Snob'. Nobody likes you. And it also makes you a prime-target for thieves!
I really don't see the point to it.
What's wrong with simply owning a car that runs well and efficiently, can carry and seat all your needs, and encourages to do all-but break-the-law??
What do you think?
Are you one of those flashy gits with too-much money, and not a single care for anything else in this world, today??
Or, what do you think of them?

Then you look down and realise that what Dr Duck wrote about hasn't changed.
Yes chicks really do like sports cars. Doesn't need to be anything as flash as a Porsche, even Mazda MX5's seem to work.
You have a lot more fun drinving them. driving in this country is a pain because of speed limits, bad drivers and high fuel prices. If you have the money a flash car makes it that bit more enjoyable.
Why not?! Why have a Honda Civic or a Ford Focus?
Then there is prestige. The feeling that you have made it. That you are part of an elite club.

To make up for your small d*ck
...someone had to say it :^P
The single most defining possesions a man can have are his soul and his integrity.
If you sell out. You're a lifeless husk in my eyes.
Birds man, birds.

I thought it was his shoes?
After all, why else is your best silverware never actually used?
Why pay £800+ for a high end PC when the only thing you'll do that will removtely strain it is playing half a dozen or so £30 games?
You don't buy these things for value for money, or for functionality. You buy them because they're 'good'. Simple as that. They're luxuries.
In a materialistic society, you're defined by your possesions. The single most defining possesion a man can have, is his car.
3. The extra acceleration is useful when pulling out onto a 60mph road, (in my little Micra I need a gap the size of the Aussie outback to pull out without slowing the other traffic down).
4. Because they have the extra power they also have to have brilliant brakes to slow you down from those speeds, so it’s safer.
5. Some people take them to tracks at the weekends and thrash them for fun.

No, :( but maybe someday.
Unfortunately most people with nice cars do think they own the road.
