I don't really know if this is a mistake, but when the hundreds of bullets are shot at Neo and he stops them, they are different when they drop to the ground and in many shots, it's evident that they are just plastic ball bearings, and the sounds they make are not what you would expect of many machine gun bullets.
They look like plastic.
Just a little point. Most of the bullets appear to be silver in the film. For those of you who have seen or are familiar with bullets, they come in two types. Normal ones like farmers and stuff use and full metal jacketed rounds like the cops and the army use. I have never seen a silver bullet in my life for real so maybe they are meant to be like that in the film?
Also, some said that they all use different guns? Yeah they do, but they are all nearly 9mm. You even see a T4 with the 9mm kit on it. The only people to use bigger rounds are the twins and that comes after and they are 5.56mm rounds.
