Not wishing to impinge upon forum members with such trivia, but me and Mrs Dragonlance may be 'upping sticks' and moving to a new wyre.

As such, I'm thinking about 'stuff that needs to go' and 'stuff that probably doesn't'! (There is definately plenty of that.)

So, I have quite a few original, boxed PC games in pristine condition - not the present CD/DVD cased varieties - but the original boxed format.

Titles such as: Tomb Raider II starring Lara Croft 1998, Quake and Quake II series, Unreal etc etc

The question, is there a viable market for these or not. Or do I just try ebay and hope or deposit them in the local refuse centre:-)

Thanks, DL

Well in 99% of games they are probably not worth very much, but the best thing to do is research on ebay. Look at the completed listings and you will get an idea of how much you will get.

I know of a couple of games like American Mgee's Alice which will fetch about £30 so they are good ones to have lol.

Good luck in finding out the values and hope you make some money!

Many thanks pb, your advice is as I expected - it's just a shame that such 'classics' - pre-console - should be condemned to the skip. But as you say, not many people have a pc that would run them. As it happens, I still have a desktop pc - amd k6 processor, win95, twin hard drives, total 11 Gb! with I think a Voodoo 3 16mb graphics card, which still runs!

Never mind, to the skip....

I've been in a similar situation. I had alot of PC games (150+), all boxed, all in perfect condition. There are some rare titles that'll fetch 10-30 pounds if you can be bothered to research them. But generally as pb said, most are worth practically nothing (especially with older titles). And the price doesnt even justify the time spent putting them on ebay.

In the end, I started getting in contact with sellers on ebay who traded in games. There were lots of people keen on buying them all as stock. I didnt get rid of all the rare games that way, but I left enough in the job lot to make it worthwhile.

If you're feeling brave, post the list of the games.. I imagine we'd be able to point out some valuable ones. Sometimes its quite surprising what is selling for good money on ebay game-wise.

Unfortunately, PC games lose their value pretty much as soon as they are opened.

Most people take theirs to charity centres or car boot sales. They often end up going with a PC which can play them otherwise.

If you do want to ebay them, sell them as a job lot rather than indiviually. Someone may want to pay 99p for one on it's own, but when you add postage it stops becoming a bargain.

The other option is to ask around first for anyone who has an old PC, you might be surprised.
