"Chumpions League Final"

The words "boring" and "terrible penalties" spring to mind. It didnt loka like either team were trying to win...... if it had been two english teams, they would have beaten each other up to win it. I dunno, maybe it was just me who didnt enjoy the game.

Well done to Seedorf by the way.

they have to be pro-Utd though as Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle don't stay in the competition long enough :D

Worst game ever - Pleased that Milan won it though!

Yea pretty poor final but it did bring out one of the best saves i've ever seen from any keeper when Buffon turned that header away.

It wasn't a great final but I think the best team won. It was an amazing save from Buffon from an Inzaghi header, I think it was.

I couldn't believe how incredibley dull that was for a Champions' League Final! Where were all the "Goals!-Goals!-Goals!" I was expecting to see, with Del Piero, Trezeguet and Seedorf on the pitch?!?

I have to admit, I think I enjoyed the Final a few years back when Dortmund won it, after knocking us out in the earlier stages!! :S


Was it really down to 'brilliant defending', like "Golden" Ron Atkinson seemed to think?? Or was it just because these teams have been playing against each other, in Serie A, for some-time now??

Looks like UEFA's draw-fixing scheme didn't work-out so well, after all.
(Even though 'everybody' tuned-in to watch it, anyway.)


And the fact that it was on ITV, and not even the BBC, didn't help keep me all that 'interested', either! Not even in Extra Time.

Shame we've still gotta put up with another year of The Premiership though....


I didn't think the Penalty Shoot-out was too good, either - mainly because some of the 'bigger' players, like Trezeguet, didn't appear to have the "bottle". I swear he was about to start crying as he was walking up to the spot...! And that is how I knew that he - and several others - were going to make a mess of it.
I'm surprised no-one skyed it though.



Hopefully, next season's will be MUCH better!

In the end the best team won.

Boring game, but hey - thats italian football for you, as they slow it down and play from the back.

Best game of the whole tournament? - has to be Man U Vs Real Madrid at OT

Which penalty was it where the goalkeeper tried to rugby tackle the guy before he could take it? He was about ten yards off his line ffs!

Yeah, wish they'd do that at Bury's ground. If you haven't seen, the centre circle's just mud. And that was the most boring European final I've seen for years- shows that although they can defend, Italian teams can't hold out for 120 minutes, blasting every chance they have over the bar. Liverpool -Celta and Man United -Bayern Munchen were great games.
