Well done to Seedorf by the way.

Just remembered. Euro 2000. Going out to Italy (of all teams...)
AC Milan are not exactly doing fantastically domestically, that'sd already been mentioned.
A team which has failed to win away from home for three months, cannot score in 120 minutes of play in the Champion's League final, and can only put away three penalties from five should not be crowned the best in Europe.
I'm writing a letter to UEFA to tell them there's been a serious anomoly, and the champion's league will have to be replayed...

I'm not sure whihc tournament it was in, but I remember Holland going out on penalties. This was after missing something like three penalties during the normal course of play, and the another three or four out of five in the shoot out at the end.
I actually saw a documentary on penalties... there was a strong feature on the Dutch. It turns out that their view is that penalties are 'a lottery' and so there's no point practicing for them. So they don't. Which explains why they are so bad at them....
Dida needs to come about 4 steps off his line to save the penalties. Psh.
Juve being 12 points ahead of AC Milan in Serie A says something though...
Also liked Buffons penalty save, where he was fully stretched.
Had it been a Serie A match, it would've been end to end stuff, and one of the most exciting games you could see.
I dunno what the hell the studio were on about, yapping about Italian foootball being this that and t'other. Italian football is great. They really had no clue when they were commenting on it.
It's a shame that now the prize money etc, and the general stakes are so large, that it causes teams to play cautiously, and not bravely, passionatly, and daredevilic.
*Most interesting fact of the night*
Tacchinardi gets 9 yellow cards this season and plays in the final, while Nedved gets only gets 3 and doesnt play in the final.
Del Piero probably would have had a better night had Nesta not blurred his vision with that cut he gave him under his eye. His shooting was stupidly crap after that!
And what is it with dutch players and penalties? They just aint got the bottle!
*remembers kluivert missing two in euro 2000 in the same game*
*Bergkamp misses the the penalty that could have ended man utds treble dream in 1999*
*remembers Stam taking a penalty for Holland...not sure if it was euro 2000 or world cup 1998 but I do remember him putting it into row Z!"
