If you have corrupted MP3's (Or would like to check if they are corrupted) go to www.ashampoo.com

It's great. It checks all your MP3's (Or MP3's you believe are currpted) and it will tell you if they are currpted or not. Then you use the re-encoding option, and it sorts out the file.

Now it works brilliantly on mi iPod without skipping/pauses/jumping to next track.

It's a great program, and it's free!

Aha, but there is. If, say, you re-encoded at 198, you would have the same quality you started off with, except it would be bigger.

Uh yes, its default is 128, but if the original file is 128 as well there's no point in going higher, is there.

What is your current Bitrate?

Try it at 320 and see ifit makes a difference. It's default bitrate is 120...

Fair enough.

I'll still use it, though.

I did re-encode them, it just made both the corruption and the quality worse. The solution to corrupted MP3s isn't a re-encode.

Really? It points out that they're corrupted, and then you have to re-encode them. I made the same mistake. Maybe you didn't re-ecode them?

And if you did, maybe it isn't such a good program after all.

Well, it utterly failed to recover any of my corrupted MP3s.
