If you have corrupted MP3's (Or would like to check if they are corrupted) go to www.ashampoo.com

It's great. It checks all your MP3's (Or MP3's you believe are currpted) and it will tell you if they are currpted or not. Then you use the re-encoding option, and it sorts out the file.

Now it works brilliantly on mi iPod without skipping/pauses/jumping to next track.

It's a great program, and it's free!

WinMX is worse. Shareaza is okay when it works.

Ah, AudioGalaxy. It was a shame when their downloading section was shut down.

Kazaa is great for my purposes. Hmm.. there's also Winamp, but I don't know too much about that.

Yeah well I expect even Microsoft to be able to produce a network protocol that works.

Anyway, yes I've tried KaZaA but it doesn't have the range AudioGalaxy did. I'm slowly rebuilding it from eMule and suchlike.

Have you tried Kazaa?

Hmm... I fI were ever transferring that many files, I'd back them up onto zip disks.

I think it killed a few hundred or so before I realised what it was doing, but at the time it was half my collection. Luckilly I could recover most of them for backup or CD, but my Within Temptation and Blind Guardian was gone forever :-/

I've got about 3000.

When I was transferring some of them from my old drive over the network, Windows's gay network filesystem protocol (SAMBA) nuked a load of them.

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
