Was watching Newsround (I know I know, don’t ask), when this report on the Gamecube came up. This is pretty much the exact wording
‘Gamecube sales are plummeting. More of you are buying Playstaion 2 and Xbox’
Then these words emanated from the presenters mouth that made me want to go down to BBC headgquarters and b.itch-slap the Newsround researches
‘Nintendo’s plan is to make new games (DUH!!) with cuter characters!’
*sigh*

Nice to se someone attempting to reverse the situation rather than just moaning about it (i.e. me) but like I said, opinion is just too entrenched. Here was a typical converstaion with the manager at work...
Him: Tell me about games, I don't know anything.
Me: Well, each console has their own pro's and con's.

(I then proceeded to layeth a brutal smackdown on him)

For many years I have watched CBBC and, for the most part, enjoyed it. A lot.
Newsround has always been one of my favourite programmes on CBBC, right up until recently.
I have found yur reports, of late, to be biased, uneducated and down - right stupid, namely your criticisms of Nintendo's Gamecube.
I am sure you acknowledge the amount of control that TV has over young people, especialy those aged 8-12, and your blatant abuse of Nintendo's Gamecube of late is doing nothing to help improve it's ever decreasing stance in the market place.
The one main thing which annoyed me recently was aying that Nintendo is aiming to create more games with 'cuter characters' - have any of your reporters seen the excellent Geist that is in production, or even Metroid Prime 2? Anybody who has seen screenshots of the premise of either of the games would never call them 'kiddy' or 'cute'
It seems to me that you are just siding with public opinion rather than researching the facts and stating the figures. Yes, Nintendo aren't doing as well as projected, but they don't need you to make the distance between them and Sony even further.

I don't understand the BBC, really.
They seem to be taking such a strong anti-ninty approach. It'd be fair enough if what they were saying was true, but most of the time their 'news' veers between thoroughly biased and downright lies.
What makes it even more shocking is that they're normally so good at presenting stuff fairly.
Makes me wonder if I'm just turning into a blind fanboy who can't admit the truth.

I don't understand this. When you make the slites criticism, the BBC ignore you. If you threaten them, they'll come and sue you.
I hate the BBC more and more everyday. And Newsround is just poor. I wonder if they've discovered we've been to war yet?

At this point in time, people's opinions are just so entrenched its becoming increasingly difficult to envision a world where Nintendo can surge ahead of the competition.
