*Checks the moon*

Right at the back of the top of my mouth, behind my normal teeth, were little gum bits, where they sort of faded into the roof of my mouth.
I've found teeth growing there...
Just begining to break through behind the old ones.

While it's always fun for everything you eat to taste of blood, I've been using the same teeth - no changes - for years now. I'm 21 and can't remember the last time I had a new tooth.

First question - are they 'extra', replacement, or making up the number I was supposed to have?
Anyone know how many teeth you're supposed to have in your mouth, and whether it's common to get more?

Second question - wisdom teeth: I've a bit about these fabled beauties and potential stars of the next Indiana Jones film, but never paid attention because I didn't care.
Anyone know what the deal with them is, and if it's possible to get them at my age (21, for the skim-readers)?
And do they really make you wise?

Third question - are they going to push my old teeth out of the way, and if so will that involve painful and/or expensive dentistry?

The first plant everyone learns to identify is the stinging Nettle.

This is shortly followed by the Dock leaf.

Have you ever been bitten by a red ant?

If it's the kind of thing you'd remember then no, otherwise maybe.

Have you ever had a bird mess on you?

Only member of my immediate family still un-messed, and it's been that way for a few years now. Pigeons make me paranoid, but I'm still clean

Have you ever been hit by a stray cricket/tennis ball?

There was a celebrity cricket match in my village (by 'celebrity', there was a guy who was apparantly Ian Botham's son there, and nobody else was recognisable...) years ago. We were sitting by the boundary and I had a feeling like the ball might hit this guy sat opposite me, and I should keep an eye on it. Then I got distracted, a few minutes later see the ball (belted by some huge Y-list celeb) heading straight for this guy's head, but I'm too far away to do anything - this was going for 6 too, could have taken his head clean off (virtually), and I'm thinking 'sh**, I blew it - I knew it was going to happen and I screwed up'. Meanwhile the guy hadn't noticed, and we're talking about this happening in split-seconds - I see it going for his head and I don't have time to intercept, warn him, anything.
Then at the last second this other bloke standing nearby reaches out and plucks the ball out of the air.
Everyone was like 's*** - that would have taken your fricking head off'.
Excpet me - I felt a combination of relief at not having funked it up, and jealousy for the admiring glances at the guy who caught it.

I never liked cricket...

Do you have a faint aura srrounding you?

No, but once, on holiday in France, there were these gnat-type things, in like a pillar above my head following me around. Sort of a funnel of insects (or whatever gnats are classified as). I stuck my head in a bush to see if they'd go away, but the bush had stinging nettles in. Needless to say I pulled my (somewhat stung) forehead straight back out of there, but the gnats were still there...

"Have you ever been bitten by a red ant?"

I -believe- so. But that means nothing.

"Have you ever had a bird mess on you?"

Yes, lots and lots of bloody times.

"Have you ever been hit by a stray cricket/tennis ball?"

Many times. Was knocked unconscious because I couldn't catch one.

"Do you have a faint aura srrounding you?"

Only if I haven't changed my clothes for a while.

My wisdom teeth all came through in the last year or so. Not pain that I can remember noticing, and my dentist says they shouldn't need to be removed.

On a side note, it is physically impossible for me to floss. My teeth are just too close together. It is sometimes possible to force the floss down between two teeth, but when it finally 'goes', it slams into my gum with enough force to shred it. Not nice. Additionally, it will invariably snap when I try to remove it again.

If I seriously tried to floss I'd probably end up killing myself. More so than monkey man shaving.

On the plus side though, it's not actually possible for any food to get stuck between my teeth in the first place unless it's surgically inserted, so I've never really needed to floss.

There are a whole generation of kids growing up who've never seen a real bee, so possibly not. But then again, they'll all have filling by the time they hit their teens.

So yes, I guess you win for now.

In the meantime, I'm curious...

Calm down, it's not a competition.

And if it is Grix wins :^)

All of your tooth are belong to us.

Hopefully the new fellas at the top won't be any trouble. Just not sure how we'll manage with any more in the bottom...

17, one year behind you. Mind you, my Mum's a dentist. Help's a bit.

And yes, it sounds like wisdom teeth, and you should have four of them, two top two bottom. But a lot of people don't get all four, for instance my Mum has one, I think.

Mine were killing me a while ago, but now they've just calmed down a bit.

I'm 23 and I never had a filling, or a brace. I've never broken a bone or been stung by a bee or a wasp.

Do I win yet?
