I haven’t written anything for a while and I’ve just filled in all my paperwork for the Fire service as I’m due to start on Monday.

Pretty dull writing the same crap over and over, but at least they put in one bit that cheered me up.

Section 4 of the personal details equalities form,

"Are you ’out at work’ as:
Please tick one section from the list below.

Bisexual
Lesbian
Gay
Transgender"


Please tick one? It sounds mandatory. I’m tempted to tick "lesbian".

My hand hurts twice as much now. Ironically, I burnt myself.

And who cares if they aren't actually up to the job as long as the company can say *ooooh but we have one of those people, see we're not discriminating*

Because this way they can prove they don't care what you are, so long as they have one of each to prove to the media they don't discriminate.

I hate things on forms like that. If they truly wanted equality then why bother with such questions like race, religion, sexual orientation etc? That way they then can't be accused of hiring in a discriminating manner as they don't have those sort of details
