Finally some moving footage of the game, and much like the screenshots it looks quite simply amazing. Check out these vids from gamespot, they are of a slightly poor quality both sound and picture wise, but they still show allot of the final game should offer.

Driving a dune buggy over a beach while being chased by a flying robot, fighting alongside friendly forces against giant war of the worlds style robots which destroy everything in sight, using aliens to help you defeat enemy soldiers, again fighting alongside friendly troops trough war torn city streets... make no mistake this game will be brilliant.

But what expectations will those be? Thanks to Valve not releasing screenshots and videos every couple of weeks, I myself have not had time to really build up any expectations about what the sequel will have to offer, in fact until a couple of weeks ago I didn't eve hold much hope of the game ever exsiting.

And from the videos I've seen, I can probably make the assumption that it will be a game exceeds all my expectations for not only this game, but this genre.

Hopefully Half-Life 2 will creat more of a buzz than the orignal Half-Life did and stay in the charts for years.

If it has as great a Mod following as the original then I'll be a happy happy man. After the original I couldn't get enough Half-Life so downloaded every mod under the sun...hopefully HL2 will be as long as half-Life also.

Another point - are PC games released at the same time worldwide? is there any localisation that needs to be done on PC games, like with consoles?

I think I read somewhere that it's shipping with an SDK, or at least a level designer like the original's WorldCraft, and according to rumour CS 2.0 is supposed to be ported to the HL2 engine. So it looks like the mod following has already started.

Yeah the SDK and Source (the HL2 engine) is being made available to modders in the Summer. The plan is that by the game's release there will already be plenty of mods available.

My question still stands though about PC games having to be localised...or are they released universally?

So far it looks as if the game will be released the same time everywhere, but I have been hearing rumors that the European release could be a month later than the US. Just rumors though, and I haven't seen any proof of this so don't read too much into it.

I would assume so, as PC's are not like consoles. Why, are you ordering a game from the US or something?
