You'll forgive my cynicism at hearing that Halliburton are now able to pump and distribute the oil. I'm sure it's all about liberating those poor civilians.

Well seeing as it's the BBC that provided Goatboy's link, an organisation which has been 100% anti-war, and arguably biased against anything American, in it's reporting and in many many of its programs, I think that makes the link just as iffy as Fox's.

Not really; one is provided by Fox news, owned by Rupert Murdoch who has admitted to ensuring that his news...erm...organs have a right wing slant to "balance the left wing bias in the media", whilst the oil companies tender being granted without opening for other bids comes direct from the US Government. Simply providing a piece of evidence does not automatically cancel out another contrary piece of evidence; one must look at who provided that evidence and what their motivations for doing so may have been.

Considering the primary outbreak of SARS was in China, which didn't exactly fall head over heels to give the media coverage and access until the situation got to the really bad stage, it's hardly surprising SARS got no air time during the war, is it ?

Like during the conflict. Total news coverage, the whole time, and yet something like SARS got nothing at all.

Back to the point, within about an hour of getting home today I'd heard the Pete Townshend news about four/five times on the radio, and I'm pretty sure in that time this news has only been mentioned once. I could be wrong, but it certainly hasn't been on as much as Townshend.

Because people love to hate paedophiles and couldn't give a crap about Iraqis/Iraq/War/Oil/Bush/any real news.
