Is there such a program what will take a large file, and split it up into small chunks, so I can send it to another computer bit by bit via a 32MB Memory Stick, then join them back together so the file is as it should be??

Thanks for any info.

Checking download.com I see it listed, but it seems to only do normal ZIP Functions.

Am I viewing the wrong version??

Not a working one on the older machine.

ok, option two:

Does anyone know of direct Cable connection on Windows??

I've atteempted to set up a parallel - parallel connection between the old machine (Windows 98) and the new (Windows XP) to just cop the files I wish to keep over.

Both connect ok, and set up a little network, and I've selected which folder on the old computer to allow XP to view and copy, but I am unable to locate this folder on the XP machine anywhere, so I'm unable to select which files to grab from the old machine.

Could anyone esplain to me what I have to do to send/copy files from the old machine to the new, when the parallel2parallel is working ok??

Thanks :)

Problems like this usually crop up when the operating systems are not the same, but Ican't think of anything besides that. Sorry for pointing out the obvious, but it might help you.

Why not just use winzip disk spanning, this will do the exact job using self executables

Never knew it existed.

Is it just part of the normal WinZip program?

hjsplit will do that.
Just pick the file you want to split and the size you want each chunk to be then use hjsplit again to join it.
