I use Amazon affiliates for my site www.unitepunk.tk
Each CD I review has a link to a number of places you can buy them... but I never get any money cos I feature links to a bunch of sites and Amazon are usually one of the more expensive ones... so I may as well take the Amazon links off... it's a pain to get the right URL for each product and all that... Well, when the redesign goes up it probably won't have any Amazon links...

Offer a variety of links - Comet, play.com, amazon.co.uk etc etc the more choice the more chance you have of some-one buying something, you'll never get rich on affilliates schemes but could make a few quid over the years...

I've had affiliates links (individual item links and simply direct shop link) to WHSmiths On Line bookshop for *years* and have yet to reach the minimum payment of £50. Some of them are from a site that's received more than a quarter million visits since 1997.

On the other hand, a friend of mine gets enough from his affiliate links to Amazon to pay for his hosting and ADSL connection almost every month.

Income depends on many factors, not just how popular your site is. Individual product links are best, especially if you are doing product reviews.

I never sold anything. I was thinking of opening a shop using Cafepress.com on NetWise, but they're really crap, so as far as I know, I don't sell anything. I just teach and recommend.

Ahhh, there are terms and conditions to 'Ideas by Phi11ip'

Like, 100% of any extra referral fees.

So what were you originally selling?

You could make loads from saying things like, "More info can be found in this excellent book."

Something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/ [CHEEKY MONKEY] 0764507206/ref=sr_aps_books_1_2/202-9089613-5522261

Don't make me look stupid.

I was generalising.

I don't care if that's not a word either.

yOU HAVE A MORE SPECIFIC SITE THAT WHAT i DO AND (sorry!) therefore you will be able to sell more stuff than me just randomly linking games.

Like Xboxrules will be able to sell Xbox games because people go there solely forthe Xbox.

Basically, unless your site is specific to something you're gonna have a small chance of getting any money.

Yeah, I suppose, but that depends on who hosts your shop (eg. cafepress.com)
