It has heart. The story of Fry and what happened in his abscence really does get to you even though it's just a cartoon. For example the episode today with his brother and the clover, the one with his dog, his girlfriend and the real reason he was frozen etc. Shame it had to come to an end because it has so much more than most programmes. I actually find it quite inspiring. Excellent writing!

Hermes: (on top of building) "I'm gonna jump!"

Bender: "Do a flip!"

My favourite programme on TV. Oh, and scrubs.

"Fry: It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long, the grasshopper kept burying acorns for the winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. But then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns. And also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"

Excellent :)

I like the fact you can watch an episode again and again for the jokes, not for the plot.

I've got the 1st and 2nd series on DVD. I thought it was funny when Zap commented "If we hit the bullseye, the others will surely fall like a house of Dominoes, checkmate."

Or something.

It manages to have some sort of continuation but at the same time it doesn't really matter that much. Even if you just see one episode you can pretty much grasp it. You may not get all that's going on but it is possible to enjoy it and still laugh at it. Also with it being based in the future it opens up more possabilites for what could happen to everyone in the show. you can start to feel for the characters like Leela (sp)and Fry. Not just them but everybody, inculding Bender at some points. so anyway in conclusion, Futurama great.
