Cheap. Really really important word. Cheap. Not top of the range, not super uber digital output with built in Mac OS.

I want a poxy video camera that I can use for animation... so I'd want to be able to use it for creating frames with clicks, then...

And really that's all I want. Digital would be nice.

Any ideas? Help? :0)

I'm taking the Jim Henson route to lip synch. Just move the mouth up and down a bit, make sure the person is always moving, but most of all, it doesn't really need to be realistic, just believable.

After all, when you watch the muppets you believe they're speaking, don't you? That's all that matters. :0)

If it matters that much to you I was hoping you'd reply anyway, muppetboy. :0)

Anywho... I want a camera to record things happening too, not to make a few second movie things. Sorry, really should explain myself a bit more.

Requirements: Probably more than I say.

I want to be able to record LONG things. Because I want to watch them over and over, notice things happening in them, get timing from them.

I want to be able to press buttons to make frames in an animation. I know cameras exist that do this.

Basically I want a video camera, not a digital picture taking device thing.

Unless you're pretty sure you'll never need this camera for anything else then buying a cheapish one should be fine for what you need.

While the digital cameras can, for the most part, only handle very short clips using their own memory, if you can wire it up to a lap-top with cam-recording software (assuming you don't need to move the camera too much) then you have a fairly basic camcorder.
