Why are cartoons now so bland compared to the ones from my childhood? I think it's actually bad for kiddies imaginations that they don't have cartoons of such quality as Thundercats, or Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. I used to watch all these programmes on Saturday and Sunday mornings and it never hurt me one bit. What were your favourite characters/series from your past?

I'd hate to burt your nostaga bubble... but these cartoons were the templates for the current trend... and were actually even worse than todays cartoons, in case of animation (where they would use static figures and just animte mouth movement, etc) and script (banile, over emphasised moral tales)

You could say that, but the cartoon and TV series writing has really gone downhill. There's no imagination in them any more- mostly. But some today are really good! Has anyone seen Reboot, the computer animated series? that's really well written and has likeable characters.
But back to the point- you look at some cartoons now and there's excessive violence and the animation itself is terrible too. The older animations were more moral, and generally, more fun, with less Americanisms and better humour.

Are these cartoons really getting worse or are we just growing up?I know that if you watch one of these old cartoons it will appeal to you a lot more than the new ones, but that's just reminising(bad spelling)

Wow! Someone remembers Mysterious Cities of Gold!
I always liked:
Visionaries
He-Man
Thundercats
Mysterious Cities of Gold
Dangermouse
Duckula

It's a shame they aren't around any more- It'd do people good to see worthwhile cartoons.
