At the moment after the aftershock of Perfect Dark the N64 market is extremely quiet and one thing I've noticed is that ALL game shops have made the N64 section smaller, some have got rid of it completely to allow PS2 to fill the shelves.
As a N64 owner I'm beginning to wonder if the N64 has a future. PS is still going, but is it because the PS2 plays PS games?? - I think so.
So if Game Cube is not going to play N64 games....which it won't is it worth hanging on to the N64 at all???
Just because the DC, XBOX and PS2 appear doesn't mean Nintendo should abandon the N64 as there are thousand, no millions that own the 64 bit machine and would like more top quality games to appear on it
DON'T FORGET THE N64 FANS NINTENDO!!!
I thought it might win. It shows that I excel in Gameaday knowledge.

WELL SAID!!
This should win Gameaday. CLASSIQUE!!!
If you just hold on to your N64, you'll still have a good machine to play with. Sure it will look rank alongside with a PS2, but Nintendo wise it still looks good, even without 128 bits.
Remember the N64 technically in some games push the N64 to the limits and they still run and play well.
Although they are not in high res all the time the games are better than most PS2 games really.
Keep it and be happy you've got one!
Now, the Eggman is claiming that the N64 is being pushed to the back of the shelf. In my view, quite rightly so! Nintendos have always been a very good gaming company, with their pioneering NES, SNES and Gameboys. But, as soon as they hit any real competition, they crumble. With the specifications of the N64, they should be able to wipe the floor with any of the competitors. But, instead, they choose to not use it to its maximum potential! Now, Sony have brought out a PSX2, and Sega have brought out their Dreamcast, and with the immeninent arrival of the X-Box from Microsoft, the Nintendo people should really be thinking about doing something to reclaim the spot on the top of the market. With the PSX2 now dominating the market, i also feel that the PSX will get pushed to the back of the pile, but it served its purpose. The N64 never really did! OK, it had a few great games, but it did not make the most of what it had! Now, it is being overtaken by all the competitors, when it should still be winning the race! This is surely the end for the Nintendo 64, and, if nothing is done soon, surely the end for Nintendo!
Where as....
The N64 was expensive, so little Fred's parents wouldn't buy him one...neither would the little Johnson boy's parents, thus having a knock-on effect all throughout the gaming industry...the only people who bought the N64 were the patient, self controlled clever people who knew that it would have better games that the Playstation, and who weren't afraid to spend money!
So the N64 with it's expensive cartridges has had a good life, plaenty of good games, some bad, but most that were okay and fun to play....we can only hope that its successor can do even better and rule the industry once and for all.....
