I went for 1984

I went for Empire of the Sun- just beating 1984 and In Durance Vile.

I would have voted but I cannot be bothered to fill in their stupid little survey and write a paragraph about why people should read this book.


I would have voted for Shadow the Sheepdog.

I thought The Great Gatsby was bloody awful.

Awwwwww it's just a bit of fun. Voted for The Great Gatsby because; "[t]he only book I've ever read that has a law-breaking, obsessive, shallow character who also manages to be inspirational. Yes, but when we are told Harry Potter or Bridget Jones has won we can at least think that we had a small say in it.

Let's find the nations favourite book! Yes! And we already know thier favourite song! Then let's ram it down everyone's throat that this IS their favourite book/song no matter what they actually think!

Besides which, the nations favourite reading material is The Sun.
