Let me take you through what just happened.
A. I leave my house to return a DVD (K-PAX) to my local Apollo.
B. I decide to take the scenic route and walk through the park.
C. A police car STOPS me outside the park.
D. I am alone and its 1 cop in a van. (A pig in a blanket)
E. He tells me that he is searching me because someone fitting my description has TRIED to steal a bike.
F. He takes my details and waits for 2 other cos to come and see if I match the description.
G. One of the cops says I dont look Greek enough and lets me go.
I am so mad, I have lived there my whole life and must have walked through that park a thousand times and this is the first time I have ever been stopped. I wasn't searched so I can't even complain to the authorities. What's your view on this?
I just would have liked an apology.

Phew! The other way around, and you'd be asking "Iz it coz I iz black?" ;-p

That's not 'harm'. If the people know your parents, they also (I assume) know you. And unless you're a known local troublemaker (which I assume you're not, otherwise you'd be used to getting stopped and wouldn't be complaining about it!), that means they will also know that it was highly likely to be a case of mistaken identity.

I can't believe you intend to waste more police time and resources by complaining about it!

I'm 15 and the description I "matched" was that I was white with a black jacket. It is cold outside. I knew I should have worn my blue one.
It was inconvenient and I was embarassed and there was harm. 3 people who know my parents saw me being stopped by police. I know it's not that much of a big deal BUT I am just so pi55ed off. Well, at least I have the officers number when I write my complaint.
Otherwise I wouldn't be too bothered by it. The police were only doing their job. They didn't search you or arrest you, so it's really no big deal. Inconvenient, yes. Embarrassing, possibly. But ultimately, no harm done.
