When can we order our Gamecubes? Do we have to wait until 6 months prior to the release date? I don't think I can wait that long!

Can't you do it now? Can I have a free one?! I hope they are cheap, I will pay £300 but i think that they should eb no more than £200 really.

Actually Avitar of Woe, I may be a Nintendo fan but I can see that the N64 didnt do as well as it could have....its not a failure though, just a great console with average sales! Segas Saturn was a failure(I have a Saturn too, Panzer dragoon is a damn good game, I also have the sonic collection on it, I love sonic!)... but back to the point PS1 has been an immense success, more sucessful than the N64.
However Microsofts X-box being released last gives it some problems, one we have no idea what sort of gamer/person theyre targeting, so theres little interest in it!
Computer owners wont by it, unless it can play exsisting PC games well, most of them will already have a powerful PC anyway, with a DVDrom, superb graphics card etc...so theyre not going to buy this Toy!
That leaves the console audience to be targeted, and we wont buy it because we read our PS monthly or N64 or Dreamcast mags....theyre not going to tell us the benefit of X-box gaming are they????
So Microsoft are left with the home market, ie next to the TV in the living room, this will be a hard market to take especially since theyll be up against Sony.
last but not least evryone hates Microsoft!

verybody realises what an amazingly successful marketing plaoy it was by Sony that they didnt have enough PS2's in stock for Christmas?

It's driven demand through the roof... people who dont even like consoles were trying to get there hands on them...

Its made it the console of choice for the majority of the market... who dont know that GC's or X-Box's have even been dreamt up...

And TV programmes reporting the lack of stock have given the PS2 more free advertising than they could ever have dreamet of...

N64 was released a long time after the PS, not just a few months...but that probably dragged it down a lot.
Hmmmm. I was gonna comment about x-box and gamecube, but i really can't be bothered. It's all been said before.

Ok, so the Xbox gets released a few months after the GameCube....this means it'll be a failure? Wasn't the N64 released a few months after the PSone, and being a Nintendo fan, you probably wouldn't qualify that as a failure...?

Ive heard the Gamecube will retail for £199 over here, probably $199+VAT over there! However £199 is going to be cheap for the latest, most powerful games console. Nintendo should release the console over here at the end of the year. The good news is that the X-box wont reach our shores till early 2002, meaning it will be a failure! Horah!

Long live Nintendo!

Good old Nintendo, Trust them to think of a new Idea, I bet Sony knick it for their Playstation 3, and PS4 and PS5 and PS6....etc...

Nintendo have told shops etc. NOT to preorder cubes yet. The reason is 2 fold. First it makes sure people don't simply stop buying n64 stuff, and waith for the gc instead.

Second, it allows shops to use nintendos official ordering system when it is launched. Far better than Sony's diatster!

I think SR are taking the appropriate precautions.

Knowing Nintendo, the GameCube won't be out here until spring 2002, at the earliest.
