Much darker this morning on the way to work, suppose it's inevitable.
QUOTE:
"Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed by Motorola, USA in 1986. As of 2010, it is widely used in many sectors of industry, although its use is not without controversy.
Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts", "Green Belts", etc.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction and/or profit increase).
The term Six Sigma originated from terminology associated with manufacturing, specifically terms associated with statistical modeling of manufacturing processes. The maturity of a manufacturing process can be described by a sigma rating indicating its yield, or the percentage of defect-free products it creates. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of the products manufactured are statistically expected to be free of defects (3.4 defects per million). Motorola set a goal of "six sigma" for all of its manufacturing operations, and this goal became a byword for the management and engineering practices used to achieve it.
Go for it pb .... sounds 'je ne sais quoi' :¬)
Not surprised to hear the news Apple sold 1 million phones in the first 24 hours in the States. That's 400,000 more than the iPhone 4 did.
Great time to be an Apple stock holder.
In training the next 3 days (started today), which makes a change. Just got to stay awake through it all and avoid the issue that I'm nowhere near the internet until I get a break...
I've been getting into Football Manager. It really is a crazy game. Got fired as Aston Villa Manager after getting wrecked in Europe and the FA cup, went on holiday for four months and got offered a four year contract with Arsenal.
With some luck, there is a 'banked' exploit by devteam / comex etc which is being kept quiet until post-launch so it's too late for apple to patch :)
Otherwise I guess it's another 6month+ wait for JBIOS5 on 4S :-s
Ah. IPhone 4S. The breakdown:
Better camera. 8MP and lots of new tech to get the best possible picture, even in low light. Remember that Megapixels aren't the only thing you need to compare for quality.
Bigger capacity: 64GB for the first time on an iPhone. As so many apps are now growing in size and there are so many useful apps to get, plus the TV, Movies and music, 64 GB will be very useful.
A5 processor. This is the important one. While some would like a better resolution, the screen size means the difference wouldn't bet that noticeable. The A5 means you can actually do more things with those graphics though, which is far more important in gaming and with the speed it gives to apps in general.
Double Antenna and faster Internet: two antennas, one for incoming and one for outgoing calls should really improve signal and quality. Faster HSPA+ means almost double the standard speed where available.
SIRI: the personal assistant.
Better battery life.
The 3G to 3GS upgrade meant a huge increase to the quality of games at the time, more so that between the 3GS and 4 (which improved resolution),so gamers should hopefully be well catered for by the processor change.
