There are some interesting articles on Eurogamer and trade paper MCV about it all.
Either way, the outcome hasn't done GAME any favours...
The GAME thing isn't them trying to make a point, it's that they didn't want to pay outright for games that they'd normally get on credit.
The usual credit systems they had in place were affected by the loss of their insurance and most publishers changed their terms to allow GAME to receive games on credit still. Talks with Nintendo, EA and Capcom didn't reach an agreement, so it was either not have the games to sell or pay for them up front, which GAME Group were unwilling or unable to do.
And what is with GAME recently - I understand making a point, but when their future is just about in the balance, they should be doing all they can to survive, not cutting themselves out of the huge game release market...
Pretty nippy out there, but at least the sun was shining when I caught the bus this morning.
