A 40 minute walk to a primary school seems a lot for the young ones. We are fortunate in that the school is a 5 minute walk without a road to cross. Still takes ages to get home as she has to stop at the park!

Yep, pretty much.

We used to have to do that in the old days as well, though. Ah, she tells me it's 40 minutes now, they've got a new way.

We used to get a bus ticket, but since they now both have to pay it would cost more than £90 a week.

She doesn't. She can. But she doesn't. :)

To be fair, she hasn't ever driven in England before so would need a bit of practice. My car isn't exactly small either.

But I can't complain as she walks to drop them off and pick them up, which is about an hour each way.

Well that certainly keeps 75% of your family fit then!

Do you actually mean that your children walk an hour to and an hour from school each day and that your wife walks 4 hours each day escorting them?

They must be knackered by the time they get to school in the morning, no matter how much Magic Porridge they've had!

Going out in the rain to pick up kids from school is not good for me when I'm already ill. I know it was in the car, but I still got fairly wet!

Seems to be a lot of this type of illness around at the moment pb, Mrs DL has been complaining of similar symptoms today :¬(

However, what I was going to say was ... if the kids needed picking up from school and I was ill or away, then Mrs DL would do the 'school run'! Does Mrs PB not drive then?

An air con unit came for my room yesterday. It's a little loud but it was so comfortable sleeping last night. Summer is usually a nightmare trying to sleep as my room is the hottest in the house. (yes, even the kitchen)

What sort of price were you looking at? £50 for a PSP3000? or did you want a Go? I'll look around, sure Gamestation still has them in from time to time.

Can always let you know and post one if I find it.

1000, 2000 or 3000 up to £50. Definitely not the PSPGo, I don't like the design.
I think my local Gamestation might have the 3000 in stock. I spoke to them a while ago when I was after the cheap £30 original and I think they mentioned having a more expensive model. I might head into town and check tomorrow.[/i]

Hsving had the original and the 3000 I can say without a doubt that the 3000 is well worth any extra money you'd have to pay. The screen is just so much better and it feels slightly more comfortable.

I'd get a large memory card (Gamestation sometimes have spare ones lying around that they'll sell on the cheap, watch ebay as I've had some fake cards that go wrong after a month from there.

I had a 16GB card for mine when I had it, there were loads of cheap PSP games on the store by the end of the PSP's life and still are. In fact, my Vita has about 8 PSP games on it in addition to all the Vita games on my 32GB card.

Morning all,

Still feel pretty bad, but not half as bad as yesterday, so decided to work from home after taking the day off ill.

Think I'm going to try and get the Star Trek Blu-ray movie set for my birthday this year (will have to buy it myself, of course!) and then try and watch them all while the rest of the family are in Spain.

Only thing is that the first Next Gen series Blu-ray set comes out just after this.
